Something so chic can be found tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a private ski club in Collingwood, Ontario.
Alta Chalet, a monochrome, quaint chalet found at the end of a cul-de-sac in a private ski club in Collingwood, Ontario.
The house, designed by architectural firm, AKB (Atelier Kastelic Buffey), is a dazzling example of contemporary design with a touch of Nordic charm.
The monochromatic façade creates a modern and understated touch of luxury. The chalet was also designed with delicate sensitivity to the scale of its neighbouring houses.
Designed for a family of five on 3000 square feet of living space, this two storey home was efficiently planned to create a winter retreat destination that is simple and welcoming.
Priority was given to capturing views of the ski hills, enjoyed from the height of the upper level. Here the family congregates in an open concept kitchen, dining, living area, with a private den and access to a large outdoor deck. The master suite, bedrooms and sauna are also located on the lower level with direct access to an outdoor hot tub deck.
