5 Celebrities To Look Out For In Verbier, Switzerland

5 Celebrities To Look Out For In Verbier, Switzerland.

Verbier really is the crème de la crème in the skiing world.

It has this magic amalgamation of après, village culture, snow conditions and terrain that make people want to flock to it, including celebrities.

It’s been a hot spot for tourists dating back to the early 1900’s. In the 1960’s, it was frequented by lifestyle photographer Slim Aarons who is famously known for ‘capturing fabulous people doing fabulous things’. And there are still plenty of fabulous people you can spot in the resort today.

If you are in Verbier or plan on visiting, keep a look out for these 5 celebs who have been regularly spotted around the place;

James Blunt is #1 on the list for a reason. He’s earned the title of ‘local’ as he spends most of his year in Verbier.

The singer/songwriter owns his own chalet in the town, as well as co-owning the fantastic mountain restaurant Le Vache with England rugby legend Lawrence Dallaglio and superbike racer Carl Foggarty. It can be found at the Attelas chair life (2,727m).

He even has a lift named after him and Verbier have given him a ski pass for life! (Fun Fact: Diana Ross also has a chairlift named after her!).

The down to earth and loveable Virgin founder and billionaire Richard Branson is such a fan of Verbier that he has also bought his very own high-end luxury retreat called, The Lodge.

He visits regularly with his family, business associates and celebrity friends (including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jude Law, and even Barack Obama) and is often spotted often around the village and on the slopes.

Being the business wiz that he is, he’s set the ‘The Lodge’ up as a ‘hotel’ for busy weeks during season, so it is open to the public to enjoy too. Madonna and family stayed in the chalet back in 2017. Depending on the week, you can book the entire chalet or just a room. Prices start at around £2550 per room for three nights.

British adventurer and TV personality Bear Grylls is another celebrity who owns his own chalet in Verbier and is known to reside in the resort for much of the season with his family and friends.

The adrenalin junkie is known to love the backcountry skiing available in Verbier and is very competent at it, tackling

Ed Sheeran is another singer/songwriter who loves the slopes, although he has not committed to owning his owning chalet just yet. Ed Sheeran was first introduced to Verbier through his friend James Blunt and since has returned with his wife Cherry Seaborn.

5. Pixie Lott

UK popstar, Pixie Lott is also a frequent visitor to Verbier, often staying in the luxury W-Hotel with boyfriend and model Oliver Cheshire.

Often seen out on the slopes in her signature white ski-outfit, she’s a lover of the mountain après and Verbier nightlife.

The Fusalp Levanne Ski Jacket

The Fusalp Levanne Ski Jacket

Fusalp has been one of our favourite women’s brands for a while now. We love the tight, well-fitted feminine styles that are pretty hard to come by on the ski market.  It was actually this ‘tightness’ of pants that brought two tailors from Annecy together. They wanted to create a skin-tight ‘fuseau’ stirrup pants that allowed women to feel beautiful on the slopes, whilst keeping warm.

One of our favourite looks from this season was the Fulsalp Levanne Ski Jacket & Tipi II Ski Pants. Our founder, @lucindapikkat took the outfit for a spin in Val d’Isère and shared her thoughts;

“The outfit is REALLY well fitted which is exactly what I wanted. I loved the cut and colour and instantly felt ‘special’ in it but I have struggled finding a brand that can fuse fashion and performance, so I was excited to try the outfit out for a full week of skiing to see if I would be stand the test of time and mountain terrain! The jacket is made of softshell and has total stretch, so movement & comfort was great – I was really impressed. I also love that the collar is made of detachable faux rabbit fur, so you can remove for heavy snow days.”

Take A Look Inside Justin Bieber’s Favourite Ski Chalet

Take A Look Inside Justin Bieber’s Favourite Ski Chalet

The Park City chalet he usually rents is now up for sale for $14million.

Whether you have any intention of buying it or not, there is something fascinating about having a snoop inside the homes of where celebs have been… seeing where they would make their breakfast cook up before hitting the slopes or where they would enjoy their après ski/post ski jacuzzi.

The chalet has also been frequented by Taylor Swift, Larry King, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, according to Concierge Auctions.

The 4.63-acre ski-in and ski-out property is located in The Colony at White Pine Canyon and for anyone who wants to do some googling the address is 72 White Pine Canyon Road.

There is a ski run that goes right past the letter box, so if you are around the joint you can go have a geez yourself…

Catch Your Own Private Jet To Your Next Ski Trip

Catch Your Own Private Jet To Your Next Ski Trip

So you are heading to the French Alps. You can picture the mountains and the feeling of your ski’s beneath you. The only thing in between you and the fresh powder is  that tedious flight and transfers getting there.

Well imagine this for a second…

YOU are able to decide when YOU want to fly, anytime YOU want, 24/7. YOU can arrange for any airports to be opened out of hours and permits to be granted in record breaking time. YOU can have an on-demand masseuse and have your legs rubbed down before your big week of skiing and personal chef on your flight, making a replica of a McDonalds Big Mac because that’s exactly what YOU felt like…

This is all sounding too good to be true you might ask? Nope, we are still going…

You get dropped to the door of your chalet where you can be well rested. The next morning you are greeting by your ski tour guide, waiting in your own private helicopter. You can then access any part of the Swiss Alps that you want too. Whenever you want to leave the helicopter is waiting for you to take you to lunch.

How on earth is this possible?

There is a private jet company, Vimana Private Jets that is just as into skiing as we are and wants to make this happen for you.

Well, firstly Vimana Private Jets are independent broker’s and have access to over 5000 aircraft worldwide, allowing them to match clients’ needs and demands. They hold the relationships with the airports allowing them to virtually achieve the ‘impossible’ with any on -demand or last-minute requests. But what really makes it possible is the passion this company has for skiing and understanding that offering this kind of service would be making many dreams come true and a truly special and memorable experience.

Yes ok, this sounds epic but it’s obviously way too pricey…?

We understand the skiing culture and sport is already an expensive one and really mainly for people with privilege to enjoy it (we should all thank our lucky stars we get to enjoy it). So, even within that small group of people there is an even smaller group that could possibly consider an open like this.

The costs does depend on a lot of varying factors but if you are interested get in touch here.
